CE Requirements for LPC and ALC in Alabama

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) must take 40 hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years.

  • Must include 6 credits of CE in counseling ethics.
  • LPCs can take 10 credits of self-study online.

Associate Licensed Counselors (ALC) must take 10 hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years.

  • Must include 2 credits of CE in counseling ethics.
  • ALCs can take 2.5 credits of self-study online.

Alabama LPCs can earn 10 of their 40 credits online through athealth.com and ALCs can earn 2.5 of their credits online through athealth.com. View the course catalog

The Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling accepts courses from NBCC approved providers.  At Health is an NBCC approved CE provider (ACEP #6719).
