Continuing Education (CE) for LPCs in North Carolina

Continuing education (CE) requirements for licensed professional counselors (LPC, LPCA, and LPC Supervisors) in NC:

  • Forty (40) continuing education (CE) hours every 2 years, including a minimum of 3 hours of ethics. The required Jurisprudence Exam counts for 5 contact hours in ethics.
  • Renewal date: June 30th of the renewal year
  • LPC Supervisors must take a minimum of 10 hours in clinical supervision. This is in addition to the 40 hours for a total of 50 CE hours.
  • North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors accepts courses offered by NBCC approved providers. At Health, Inc. is approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6719.

North Carolina licensed professional counselors can earn all forty (40) of their CE credits online through athealth.com, except the 5 hours for the Jurisprudence Exam.
