CE requirements for addiction counselors in DC:
- Certified addiction counselors must complete 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics and 3 hours in trauma counseling.
- Ethics and trauma CE must be earned face-to-face
- DC marriage and family therapists can earn 6 CE hours online
- Renewal: December 31, even-numbered years
CE Approvals: The DC Board of Professional Counseling accepts programs from NBCC and APA approved sponsors. At Health is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP #6719). At Health is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. At Health maintains responsibility for the program.
