Continuing Education for DC Social Workers

CE requirements for social workers in DC:

  • Social workers must complete 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics and 3 hours of HIV/AIDS training
  • Ethics requirement must be completed face-to-face. HIV/AIDS training can be completed online
  • DC social workers can earn 12 CE hours online
  • Renewal: July 31, odd-numbered years

CE Approvals: The DC Board of Social Work accepts programs from NBCC and ASWB approved sponsors. At Health is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP #6719). Programs for social workers are also available for continuing education credit through the co-sponsorship of At Health, Inc., and Amedco, LLC. Amedco, #1346, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Amedco maintains responsibility for the program.
