Continuing Education for Nurses in GA

CE requirements for GA Nurses (LPN, RN):

Licensed practice nurses (LPNs)

  • Twenty (20) hours of continuing education every 2 years
  • Courses must be related to nursing practice.
  • Examples include offerings related to specialty areas of nursing practice such as research, case management, health policy, forensics, mental health, or complementary alternative therapies
  • May be taken online

Registered nurses (RNs)

  • Thirty (30) hours of CE every 2 years
  • Courses must be related to nursing practice.
  • Examples include offerings related to specialty areas of nursing practice such as research, case management, health policy, forensics, mental health, or complementary alternative therapies
  • May be taken online

CE Approvals: GA Board of Nursing accepts courses from any provider recognized by another state board of nursing within the United States. At Health is a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CA BRN), Provider # CEP 15512.
