CE requirements for WV psychologists (PhD, PsyD):
- Licensed Psychologists must complete 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 3 hours of ethics and 2 hours in Veteran's assessment
- Training specific to veterans and their family members should include whether clients or their family members are veterans, screening for conditions such as PTSD, readjustment issues, intermittent explosive and related disorders, addiction, risk and prevention of suicide, and the need for family and/or marital counseling.
Dually Licensed Psychologists must obtain 3 hours per renewal period, in their secondary area of practice which will be included in the requirements above for Licensed Psychologists.
Supervised-Psychologists must obtain 10 hours of continuing education per year with 1.5 of these hours in ethics.
Licensed School Psychologists must complete 30 hours of CE every 3 years, including 3 hours in ethics.
CE Approvals: The WV Board of Examiners of Psychologists accepts programs from APA approved sponsors. At Health is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
