General Comments:
Dr. Kagan has been in private practice for over 30 years. She brings a compassionate, healing energy to her work. Through a combination of intuition, insight, emotional support, guidance and at times, gentle humor she helps her cllients gain perspective on their problems as well as clarity about how to resolve them. Her approach is holistic in that she helps her clients examine, balance, and strengthen the physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual areas of their lives.
In her therapeutic work, Dr. Kagan focuses primarily on the present, and believes that an understanding of the past is primarily helpful for adding an historical perspective on the current dilemma. She uses an approach that is a combination of education and therapy that ultimately enables her clients to learn how to become their own therapists.
In working with couples, Dr. Kagan is highly respectful of the different perspectives of each individual. She creates a safe environment in which the couple can discuss their differences, drop their defenses, resolve their conflicts and achieve a closer, more loving connection.
Dr. Kagan is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and is a National Certified Counselor. She also hold certification in Hypnosis and has a Life Teaching Credential. She has taught and lectured at Universities, Medical Centers and Professional Organizations. Additionally, she has led seminars, has had articles published and has appeared on national and public television and radio.
Dr. Kagan believes that the problems which we encounter in life are learning opportunities, and that all situations, even the most difficult, can be used as catalysts for growth. She further believes that learning is a lifetime process.

Fee Schedule:
Standard fee is $150.000 per hour. If there are financial difficulties, and you are able to attend during the day, during the week, there is a sliding fee scale, depending upon your financial situation. The sliding fee scale goes as low as $110. Some insurance companies can be billed for a percentage of the fee.
