Guided by the expertise of Tiffany Doar, a Fellow in Thanatology, participants will explore the emotional and ethical challenges that arise when a clinician experiences significant personal loss while continuing to provide care for others.

Through this training, participants will gain a structured framework for managing their own grief without compromising the therapeutic relationship. The course provides practical guidance on the nuances of self-disclosure, helping clinicians determine when—and how—to share their personal experiences in a way that remains client-centered and clinically appropriate.
