Suicide Assessment, Treatment, and Management Requirement

The Washington State suicide prevention law, the Matt Adler Suicide Assessment, Treatment, and Management Training Act, requires that after January 2014 mental health professionals licensed in the State of Washington (psychologists, LMHCs, LICSWs, LMFTs, and chemical dependency professionals) must complete a 6-hour continuing education course in suicide assessment, treatment, and management.

Psychologists, mental health counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and chemical dependency professionals can meet the requirements of RCW 43.70.442 suicide assessment, treatment, and management training by taking the athealth.com 6-hour online training course entitled, Suicide Assessment, Treatment, and Management.

The online program covers suicide prevalence, risk factors, screening, assessment, treatment, and management. Topics also include co-occurring mental and substance use disorders, suicide in the military, assessing suicide risk in children, suicide crisis intervention strategies, and ethical considerations in the assessment and management of suicide risk.

This quality online program is a cost-effective, convenient way for practitioners to become more informed about this important topic. Click the button below to read additional course details and complete your requirement today:
