Maryland psychologists (PhD, PsyD) are required to take a minimum of forty (40) hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years, including three (3) hours of ethics and three (3) hours of cultural competence.
The Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists accepts a maximum of twenty (20) CE hours of independent study. Independent study means an activity requiring the study of print or electronic materials offered by approved sponsors.
If psychologist supervises psychology associates, a minimum of three (3) CE hours related to clinical supervision is required.
Psychology associates are required to take a minimum of twenty (20) hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years. Including three (3) hours of ethics and three (3) hours of cultural competence. Psychology associates can take a maximum of ten (10) hours of independent study.
Renewal date: March 31 every 2 years (Registration # ending with odd digit will be March 31 of odd years; registration # ending with even digit or 0 will be March 31 of even years.

The Board accepts courses by APA approved sponsors. At Health, LLC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
