To be accepted by the board, continuing education must contribute directly to the professional competency of a professional counselor and must be directly related to the skills and knowledge required to implement professional counseling principles and methods.
CE requirements for Alaska professional counselors:
- Must complete 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including at least three contact hours must be in professional ethics, at least three contact hours must be in suicidality, and at least three contact hours must be in cultural competency.
- No more than one-half of the total number of CE hours may be earned from individual study
CE Approvals
At Health, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6949. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. At Health, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
