You’re likely aware of the concept of stereotype threat and may have even listened to The Testing Psychologist's episode with Dr. Josh Aronson, where they discuss the development of the theory. But how can this theory be applied to assessment work?
For this course, Dr. Geremy Grant talks with Dr. Jeremy Sharp about stereotype threat and ways to combat it when working with clients. In this discussion, they explore several different ways to both recognize and address stereotype threat, with the hope of creating an environment where clients feel safe, confident, and brave enough to do their very best.

ABOUT DR. JEREMY SHARP
Dr. Jeremy Sharp is a licensed psychologist and Clinical Director at the Colorado Center for Assessment & Counseling, a private practice founded in 2009 that has grown to over 20 clinicians. He earned an undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina before getting a Master’s and PhD in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University. He specializes in psychological and neuropsychological evaluation with kids and adolescents.
