In counseling sessions, clients often present dreams as material to use in making meaning of their experiences. This course offers a brief review of dream interpretation and provides a foundation for examining dreams as an integral part of counseling practice. A case example illustrates the application of the Developmental Counseling and Therapy model.

Target audience: Psychologists, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses.

John F. Marszalek III, PhD, LPC, NCC, is an assistant professor in the counseling
programs at Xavier University of Louisiana.

Jane Myers, PhD, LPC, NCC, is a professor in the Department of Counseling and
Educational Development at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
