Description
Suicide is a major cause of death among patients with schizophrenia. Research indicates that at least 5 - 13% of schizophrenic patients die by suicide, and it is likely that the higher end of the range is the most accurate estimate. This article reviews multiple aspects of the problem and provides strategies for reducing suicide risk among schizophrenia patients.
Target audience: Psychologists, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses.
