Anxiety is flooding their lives as they worry about loved ones, health, finances, stability and futures. We can't see them face-to-face and our ability to work with them safely and responsibly has been drastically altered, even halted.

So, now is the time for teletherapy.

In this interview, Barbara Alexander speaks with Laura Groshong about what is involved in teletherapy - platforms used, HIPAA compliance, confidentiality, legal and reimbursement concerns, and clinical implications.

About Laura Groshong

Laura Groshong is a psychodynamically oriented, clinical social worker, in private practice in Seattle. She specializes in working with people who have a variety of personality disorders. She has been the Director of Policy and Practice for the Clinical Social Work Association nationally since 2006 and, through the Mental Health Liaison Group, she has worked on passage of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equality Act of 2008, the Affordable Care Act, and many other pieces of legislation that support and benefit LCSWs. Laura has also written a book, Clinical Social Work Practice and Legislation: An Overview.
