Subject Matter Expert:

Cathy Malchiodi, PhD, LPCC, LPAT, is a well-known and respected expert in the field of art therapy. A research psychologist, Cathy Malchiodi is a Board Certified and Licensed Professional Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Certified Trauma Specialist, Supervisor and Consultant and a Certified Trainer for the National Institute for Trauma and Loss (TLC) and holds Accreditation Status with TLC. She has served as editor for several journals including "Trauma and Loss: Research and Interventions" and "Art Therapy." Her books include: "The Art Therapy Sourcebook;" "The Soul's Palette: Drawing on Art's Transformative Powers;"  "Breaking the Silence: Art Therapy with Children from Violent Homes;" "Handbook of Art Therapy;" "Creative Interventions with Traumatized Children;" and "Understanding Children's Drawings."

Barbara Alexander, LCSW, BCD, is a graduate of the Smith College School for Social Work and the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. After working for 13 years in child psychiatric settings and 30 years in private practice, she is now founder and president of On Good Authority, and an expert interviewer.
