Continuing Education for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors in South Carolina

Attention: Several states and disciplines have relaxed requirements regarding live / in person Continuing Education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check with your board to see the most current requirements.

CE requirements for SC alcohol and drug abuse counselors (CAC I, CAC II, CCS):

Certified Addiction Counselor I (CAC I)
Certified Addiction Counselor II (CAC II)
Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS)

  • 40 contact hours, including 6 hours of ethics, every 2 years
  • 20 credits can be taken online

CE Approvals

The South Carolina Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors accepts courses from providers approved by NAADAC. At Health, LLC is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Provider #148460.

South Carolina CAC and CCS can earn 20 of their CE credits online through athealth.com.
