Subject Matter Expert:

Nancy Boyd Webb, DSW, has worked for more than thirty-five years as a child and family therapist. Currently Distinguished Professor Emerita at Fordham University??s Graduate School of Social Service and James R. Dumpson Chair of Child Welfare Studies, in 1985 Dr. Boyd Webb founded and was the Director of the Post Master??s Certificate Program in Child and Adolescence Therapy at Fordham University.

Dr. Webb is the author of 12 books and over 40 articles. Her book, Helping Bereaved Children, grew directly out of her early acclaimed book, Play Therapy with Children in Crisis, now in its 3rd edition. Her video tape, ???Techniques of Play Therapy,?? won a bronze medal at the New York Festival??s International Non-Broadcast Media Competition.

In 2002, she was named Educator of the Year by the New York State Social Work Education Association, and in 2004, she received the Clinical Practice Award of the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Dr. Webb, who maintains a private practice as a consultant and a child and family therapist, specializes in the treatment of trauma and bereavement.

Barbara Alexander, LCSW, BCD, is a graduate of the Smith College School for Social Work and the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. After working for 13 years in child psychiatric settings and 30 years in private practice, she is now founder and president of On Good Authority, and an expert interviewer.
