Continuing Education for Social Workers in Vermont

CE requirements for VT social workers (LICSW, LMSW) :

LICSW

  • 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 1.5 hours of professional ethics
  • No more than 5 hours may be obtained from online programs that are not interactive

LMSW

  • 10 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 1.5 hours of professional ethics
  • All hours must consist of formal educational activites

CE Approvals

The Vermont Board of Social Work accepts programs for LICSWs from providers approved by national, regional, or state professional organizations in social work and allied disciplines, such as ASWB.

At Health, LLC, Provider #1707, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.  ACE provider approval period: 5/3/2023-5/3/2026.

VT social workers (LICSW) can earn five (5) of their credits online through athealth.com.
