CE Requirements for Montana Social Workers

Montana Social Workers are required to obtain twenty (20) hours of Continuing Education (CE) annually, prior to renewal.

  • Licensees completing more than 20 hours of CE may carry forward those hours into the next year. The number of hours carried forward shall not exceed 20 hours.
  • Licensees holding more than one type of license must obtain the requisite 20 hours of CE for each license.
  • A minimum of 2 hours must relate to suicide prevention
  • Licensees are responsible for selecting quality programs that focus on protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public and contribute to licensees’ professional knowledge and competence.

CE Approvals

At Health, LLC, Provider #1707, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.  ACE provider approval period: 5/3/2023-5/3/2026.
