Continuing Education (CE) for Licensed Professional Counselors in Virginia

Virginia Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) must take:

  • Twenty (20) hours of continuing education (CE) each year, including two (2) hours of ethics courses
  • Renewal date: June 30 each year
  • Virginia Board of Counseling accepts online learning and home study

CE approvals:

The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts courses from providers approved by the APA. At Health is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. At Health maintains responsibility for the program and its content.

Virginia licensed professional counselors (LPCs) and licensed substance abuse treatment practitioners (LSATP) can take all twenty (20) of their CE credits online through athealth.com.
