Continuing Education (CE) for Maryland Professional Counselors

Attention: Several states and disciplines have relaxed requirements regarding live / in person Continuing Education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check with your board to see the most current requirements.

Continuing education (CE) requirements for professional counselors in Maryland:

  • Must earn forty (40) CE hours every 2 years.
  • At least thirty (30) of these hours must be in Category A activities. Not more than ten (10) CE hours can be in Category B activities. At Health's courses and other online distance learning courses are considered Category B activities.
