Continuing Education for Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) in Virginia

Marriage and family therapists (MFT) in Virginia must take

  • Twenty (20) hours of continuing education each year, including two (2) hours of ethics
  • Renewal date: June 30 each year
  • The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts online learning and home study
  • Board accepts courses from providers approved by NBCC, APA, or NAADAC

The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts courses from providers approved by the NBCC and NAADAC.
