Continuing Education for Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) in Virginia

Marriage and family therapists (MFT) in Virginia must take

  • Twenty (20) hours of continuing education each year, including two (2) hours of ethics
  • Renewal date: June 30 each year
  • The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts online learning and home study
  • Board accepts courses from providers approved by NBCC, APA, or NAADAC

CE approvals: The Virginia Board of Counseling accepts courses from providers approved by the APA. At Health is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. At Health maintains responsibility for the program and its content.
