Virginia psychologists (PhD, PsyD) are required to take a minimum of 14 CE credits each year.
- Fourteen (14) hours of continuing education (CE) courses each year
- Including a minimum of 1.5 hours in ethics and standards of practice or laws governing the profession of psychology
- At least six (6) of the required hours must be earned face-to-face
- Eight (8) hours may be taken online or via home study
- Renewal date: June 30 each year
CE Approvals
The Virginia Board of Psychology accepts continuing education courses provided by any association or organization of mental health, health, or psychoeducational providers recognized by the profession or providers approved by such an association or organization.At Health, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6949. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. At Health, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit.
