Description

Research indicates that medication assisted treatment (MAT) reduces opioid use and opioid-related overdose deaths. Despite this, less than one-half of privately-funded substance use disorder treatment programs offer MAT. In this interview, Dr. Ishani Dalal, a psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of opiate addiction, describes her work in treating patients with combined medication and talk therapy. As well as the interview, this course includes research on the use of naltrexone as an effective treatment option and additional research on evidence-based psychosocial treatments.

Format: Asynchronous, distance learning. Non-interactive. Recorded audio with transcript.

You can read the text of this interview and/or access the audio to the interview via your computer’s MP3 player.
