Alabama Addiction Counselors require annual renewal with specific mandatory topics reported every two years.
Annual CE Requirements
- Total Hours Required: 20 contact hours must be accumulated every year for recertification.
- Distance Learning: There is no limit on the number of hours that may be earned through AtHealth.com’s self-study/online courses. All 20 hours may be completed online.
Mandatory Topics (Biennial)
- Professional Ethics: 6 hours required once every two years
- HIV / AIDS: 4 hours required once every two years
Renewal Schedule
Renewal is on a quarterly schedule based on your initial certification date.
- If you were certifed in the First Quarter, your Annual Renewal Deadline is January 1st.
- If you were certifed in the Second Quarter, your Annual Renewal Deadline is April 1st.
- If you were certifed in the Third Quarter, your Annual Renewal Deadline is July 1st.
- If you were certifed in the Fourth Quarter, your Annual Renewal Deadline is October 1st.
CE Approvals
At Health, LLC is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Provider #148460.
