CE requirements for addiction counselors in DC:
- Certified addiction counselors must complete 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics and 3 hours in trauma counseling.
- Ethics and trauma CE must be earned face-to-face
- 6 CE hours can be earned online
- Renewal: December 31, even-numbered years
CE Approvals
The DC Board of Professional Counseling accepts programs from providers approved by NAADAC. At Health, LLC is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Provider #148460.DC addiction counselors can earn six (6) of their CE credits online through athealth.com.
