Continuing Education for Addiction Counselors in DC

CE requirements for addiction counselors in DC:

• Certified addiction counselors must complete 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics and 3 hours in trauma counseling.
• Ethics and trauma CE must be earned face-to-face
• 6 CE hours can be earned online
• Renewal: December 31, even-numbered years

CE Approvals

The DC Board of Professional Counseling accepts programs from providers approved by NAADAC. At Health, LLC is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Provider #148460.

DC addiction counselors can earn six (6) of their CE credits online through athealth.com.
