Continuing education (CE) requirements for Texas LPCs:

  • 24 continuing education (CE) credits every 2 years, including a minimum of 4 hours in ethics, two of which must be directly related to Texas LPC ethics
  • Completion of the Texas LPC Jurisprudence Exam counts as one hour of CE in Texas LPC ethics. A licensee must successfully complete the Texas Jurisprudence Examination each renewal period
  • Approved supervisors must complete 6 hours in supervision every 2 years
  • Counselors can take 15 credits online. Nine of the 24 required credits must be face-to-face.

CE Approval:

The Texas Board accepts courses from providers approved by Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. At Health, LLC is an approved sponsor by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, provider number 3303.

Texas counselors can earn 15 CE credits online through athealth.com (Note, however, that Texas LPCs must complete the 1-credit Texas Jurisprudence Examination each renewal period AND a 2 credit Ethics course directly related to Texas LPCs, which athealth.com does not offer.)
