Attention: Several states and disciplines have relaxed requirements regarding live / in person Continuing Education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check with your board to see the most current requirements.
CE requirements for ID alcohol and drug counselors (ACADC, CADC):
- Forty (40) hours of continuing education (CE) every year, including 4 hours of professional ethics
- Ethics courses cannot be earned online.
- No more than 50% of all CEUs can be attained online, 50% must be face-to-face, defined as in person with the instructor or through an electronic medium that allows for real-time interactivity with the instructor(s) as the educational content is presented. (The in-person requirement is currently waived due to COVID-19)
CE Approvals
The Idaho Licensing Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification accepts courses provided by NAADAC approved providers. At Health, LLC is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Provider #148460.Idaho professional counselors can earn eighteen (28) of their continuing education credits online through athealth.com.
State laws can change. Practitioners are responsible for determining their state’s licensure requirements.
