Continuing Education for Rhode Island Social Workers

CE requirements for social workers in RI (CSW, ICSW):

  • Must complete 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 3 hours of cross-cultural practice and the alleviation of oppression, and 3 hours of professional ethics
  • Board accepts 6 hours of online courses
  • Renewal: April 30, odd-numbered years

CE Approvals

The Rhode Island Board of Social Work Examiners accepts programs from other state licensing boards of social work.

At Health, LLC, Provider #1707, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.  ACE provider approval period: 5/3/2023-5/3/2026.

RI social workers can earn six (6) of their CE credits online through athealth.com.
