Continuing Education for Social Workers in Nebraska

CE requirements for NE social workers (CMSW, CSW):

  • 32 hours of CE, including 2 hours of ethics, every 2 years
  • 20 hours can be earned online
  • Renewal: September 1st of every even-numbered year

CE Approvals

The Nebraska Division of Behavioral Health accepts programs from providers approved by national, regional or international mental health practice associations or associations directly related to enhancing mental health practice. For social workers courses must be related to enhancing social work practice. At Health’s CE programs meet the continuing education criteria of Title 172 Chapter 94-014 for Nebraska social workers.

The State Board of Nebraska accepts programs offered by ASWB approved sponsors.

At Health, LLC, Provider #1707, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit.  ACE provider approval period: 5/3/2023-5/3/2026.
