Continuing Education Requirements for Iowa Addiction Counselors include:
- 40 credits every 2 years
- Must include 3 credits of ethics
- The remaining 37 hours must be in relevant topics (i.e. alcohol & drug specific, special
populations, counseling, mental health, social work, etc.) - Maximum of 20 credits of distance learning for each 2-year certification period
- Board accepts NAADAC
