Continuing Education for LPC in West Virginia

CE requirements for professional counselors in West Virginia (LPC ):

• 35 hours of CE every 2 years, including 3 hours in professional ethics that must include training in the ACA Code of Ethics, and 2 hours in mental health conditions specific to veterans and family members of veterans.
• Training specific to veterans and their family members should include whether clients or their family members are veterans, screening for conditions such as PTSD, readjustment issues, intermittent explosive and related disorders, addiction, risk and prevention of suicide, and the need for family and/or marital counseling.
• 20 hours can be taken online if offered by an NBCC approved provider.
• Renewal Date: 6/30 of odd years

Approved Licensed Professional Supervisors must earn 3 hours in clinical supervision training. The course title or description must include the words, clinical supervision

CE Approvals

The WV Board of Examiners in Counseling accepts programs offered from NBCC approved sponsors. At Health, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6949. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. At Health, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
