CE for California Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT)

California marriage and family therapists (LMFT) are required to take:

• 36 hours of CE (continuing education) every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics every renewal period
• 7-hour continuing education course focusing on HIV-AIDS HIV/AIDS characteristics, assessment, and treatment. This is a one-time only CE requirement
• 6-hour continuing education course in Suicide Risk Assessment and Intervention. This is a one-time only CE requirement
• Telehealth a one-time 3-hour course in the provision of mental health services via telehealth. 
• Course content should be relevant to the practice of the license held and to maintaining or improving the skill and competency of the licensee

CE Approvals:

The CA Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts programs from NBCC and ASWB approved sponsors. At Health, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6949. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. At Health, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

At Health, LLC, Provider #1707, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. At Health, LLC, maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 5/3/2023-5/3/2026.
