CE Requirements for LPC and ALC in Alabama

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) must take 40 hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years.

• Must include 6 credits of CE in counseling ethics
• LPCs can earn 10 credits of self-study online
• Renewal Date: 7/31 of renewal year

Associate Licensed Counselors (ALC) must take 10 hours of continuing education (CE) every 2 years.

• Must include 2 credits of CE in counseling ethics.
• ALCs can take 2.5 credits of self-study online

CE Approvals

The Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling accepts courses from NBCC approved providers. At Health, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6949. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. At Health, LLC is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Alabama LPCs can earn 10 of their 40 credits online through athealth.com and ALCs can earn 2.5 of their credits online through athealth.com.
