Continuing Education for Social Workers in Delaware

CE requirements for LCSWs in Delaware:

• For each renewal period, 40 hours are required
• At least 6 of the hours shall be in the area of professional ethics
• At least one of the hours shall be in the area of mandatory reporting
• The Board will accept a maximum of 10 continuing education credits for Self-Directed Activities. The maximum number of credits that will be granted for any particular self-directed activity is indicated in subsection 7.2.6.4 below.
• Renewal Date: 1/31 of odd years

CE requirements for LBSWs in Delaware:

• For each renewal period, 20 hours are required
• At least 6 of the hours shall be in the area of professional ethics
• At least one of the hours shall be in the area of mandatory reporting
• The Board will accept a maximum of 10 continuing education credits for Self-Directed Activities. The maximum number of credits that will be granted for any particular self-directed activity is indicated in subsection 7.2.6.4 below.
• License renewal periods last two complete calendar years, beginning February 1 and ending January 31 of odd-numbered years, for example, beginning February 1, 2007 and ending January 31, 2009.

CE requirements for LMSWs in Delaware:

• For each renewal period, 30 hours are required
• At least 6 of the hours shall be in the area of professional ethics
• At least one of the hours shall be in the area of mandatory reporting
• License renewal periods last two complete calendar years, beginning February 1 and ending January 31 of odd-numbered years, for example, beginning February 1, 2007 and ending January 31, 2009.
• The Board will accept a maximum of 10 continuing education credits for Self-Directed Activities. The maximum number of credits that will be granted for any particular self-directed activity is indicated in subsection 7.2.6.4 below.

 

CE Approvals

The DE Board of Clinical Social Work Examiners accepts programs from ASWB approved sponsors. At Health, LLC, Provider #1707, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. At Health, LLC, maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 5/3/2023-5/3/2026.
