Continuing Education for Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) in DC

Attention: Several states and disciplines have relaxed requirements regarding live / in person Continuing Education due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check with your board to see the most current requirements.

CE requirements for marriage and family therapists (MFTs) in DC:

  • MFTs must complete 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years, including 6 hours of ethics
  • DC marriage and family therapists can earn 15 CE hours online
  • After December 31, 2018, the 30 hours must include 2 hours of LGBTQ continuing education
  • Renewal: December 31, even-numbered years

CE Approvals

The DC Board of Marriage and Family Therapy accepts programs from APA approved sponsors. At Health, LLC is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. At Health, LLC maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
